World Wide New Testament Baptist Mission (WWNTBM) is an independent
Baptist missions agency established in 1971 by the Calvary
Baptist Church of New Bern, NC. Their Pastor, Bill Wingard,
wanted to see a missions agency started to help local
churches get their missionaries to the mission field. Calvary Baptist Church, along with
nine other churches of like faith, work together. Our church
is one of the nine. Our pastor, Dr. J. Barry Goodman, is on
the executive board of WWNTBM.
We believe the Holy Spirit calls out missionaries from
churches today. We believe the church, not a mission agency,
must send out missionaries. We seek to follow no other
principles in missions but New Testament principles. We are
Baptist by conviction. We make no apology for this. We will
not supersede the local church.

Much can be said on using a mission board or not, and much
prayer, homework and discernment is needed. This was an
important matter of prayer before we started out on
deputation. My conclusion was that both can be equally
biblical and unbiblical. To be biblical our sending church
would have to have 100% authority and control of every
aspect of our ministry with our 100% accountability. World
Wide New Testament Baptist Mission was a perfect fit for our
ministry and our sending church.

When disaster strikes around the world, relief
efforts are started and support raised to assist in the
areas affected by our missionary families. WWNTBM was
instrumental in relief efforts for the Tsumani disaster as
well as currently raising funds to assist with the
earthquakes in Haiti, working together with
